More Bicycles in Downtown?
Is LA finally becoming a bicycle friendly city? That issue was raised before the city's Planning and Land Use Management committee on Tuesday - it was raised by Councilman Ed Reyes' recent motion on bicycle improvements citywide.
This may be just the beginning, but it was definitely a healthy discussion of cycling issues. Here's hoping we see more bicycles in Downtown over the next few years.

i don't even remember the last time i rode a bicycle!
i've been to the open model lofts at the Roosevelt, it's a nice but kinda old looking; i prefer the newer ones at Evo and if you're going to do "old" then look at the El Dorado in the historic district. that building is absolutely stunning

I LOVE THE EL DORADO! Call me old, but they don't make buildings like that anymore. But I think if you live there you have to buy a bike, I don't see any parking garage in the building? Another classic that I can ride my bike to is the Eastern Columbia. My friend has a loft there and loves it, but he has yet to see Johnny Depp who supposedly has a penthouse there.

I certainly hope LA becomes as bike friendly as Northern Cali. Since we don't have a subway/metro system, bicycle friendly streets may be a cheaper alternative than mass transit and a great stop-gap while we await a better solution. LA is the land of sunshine, and it would only make sense that the condo loft residents of downtown just get out and walk/bike everywhere.

So we're going to be more like Holland now? I guess I can live without a car, since they're removing all the parking lots in Downtown anyway. Buy a condo downtown, sell your car. I guess I need to buy a bicycle too then.
Has anybody been inside the Roosevelt lofts? They look pretty sweet.
